OK, so I got a call today from the customer support at U.S. Online today that explains the results I've been having.
I was saying I had 300+ hits to my pages - apparently the back-office was showing the incorrect number due to a technical glitch that was multiplying hits with some sort of algorithm. It affected a couple of accounts, and they have fixed it. Unfortunately I don't know how many hits I truly got, but they says a total of about 1800 ads were delivered so far, but we can't tell how many actually clicked through.
So, they've reset my ad campaign to make up for the error, so I'll get the total number again.
I also asked them a few questions and got some info that makes me feel a bit more comfortable. They've been operating since 02. They run a number of different programs, this TV dish one being the latest for about 2 years now. They have roughly 35,600 affiliates with them, many of which have renewed for multiple years.
If they were a scam - don't you think they would take the money and run? Why would they be calling me with tech support and not asking for any more from me if they were a scam?
I'm still afraid. I'm still stressed. And now my wife is pissed off at me for "gambling" with our money. But I'm going to be patient and see if it pans out. I mean, if a business opportunity like were to be not on-line based, and not under the heading "home-based business", likely one wouldn't be so suspicious of it being a scam. It must be hard for legitimate opportunities to do business with so many scams out there.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
